My Approach to Helping

I am here to empower you to shape your unique life story so you can live the life you were destined for. Together we can conquer anything.

Therapy (noun): where life's challenges find their match, providing a safe space for genuine connection, self-discovery, and personal growth while allowing every unique story to unfold. Are you trapped in endless arguments with your partner, worried about behavior issues with your child or adolescent, or seeking a second opinion on a mental health diagnosis? Maybe you are just fed up with life's shenanigans. You are looking for relief, someone who truly understands you, not a robot therapist. You want a human. Hi there, I'm Erin, and I know the ups and downs of being human. Life can be incredibly challenging. Let's work together to confront these challenges at your own pace.

My clients often tell me in the therapy room I am as real as it gets and I think outside the box. I have a mixed practice helping couples, kids, and adults. Long before I became a social worker I have been assisting individuals in governmental and non-governmental organizations on their paths to wellness. During my time at Rutgers I earned a specialized certificate in Violence Against Women and Children and a lot of my work has centered around assisting individuals whom have been sex trafficked.
I approach my work with a trauma-informed perspective, which means I am attentive to the impact of past traumas on your well-being. This enables me to provide you with a supportive and understanding environment that respects your unique experiences and helps you on your path to healing and growth." I am also educated psychodynamically.

What does all this mean? Together, we'll address life's obstacles, empowering you to create your unique path to wellness. Whether it's surmounting substance misuse, recovering from trauma, nurturing relationships, or triumphing over anxiety and depression, facing grief and loss, remember you're never alone; I am here to help.

Are you eager to explore the messy, unique, and beautiful aspects of being human? Awesome! I'm here to accompany you on your path to a life uniquely yours, defined on your terms. Together, we'll strive towards wellness. Many clients from diverse backgrounds have found success on their journeys with me. Feel free to reach out at 734-709-1392 or via email to schedule a free consultation today. I offer both in person and tele-health appointments . Currently, most of my available appointments are from 9am-4pm with some limited evening openings. Please call or email for availability.

* I am available for speaking events that discuss online safety with adolescents and education surrounding human sex trafficking for a speaker's fee. Please email for pricing.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

Originally, my path was set to become a veterinarian, but life has an uncanny ability to lead us in different directions. I find immense fulfillment as a psychotherapist because I am a strong advocate for our shared pursuit of connectedness and authenticity. It's a privilege to listen to each individual's unique story and what makes them truly special. Empathy is my hallmark and I enjoy getting to know people authentically and empowering them on their path to leading fulfilling lives.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

You are not flawed. You are strong. You are doing the best you can to survive based on your physical make-up and life experiences. There is a reason behind your behaviors that is based in positive intention. Bottom line: you are doing the best you can with what you have.
