My Approach to Helping

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience in mental health counseling. Within my years of working in mental health, I have learned that building a good therapeutic relationship is the foundation for all of the work that I do with my clients. I take an active, collaborative, and supportive approach to treat the different needs presented by clients. I use my knowledge in evidence-based approaches to guide sessions and my clients' needs dictate the specific approaches I employ. It is important for us to have a collaborative and positive working relationship, however, it is also important that the treatment approach fits the client and their presenting concerns. Creating a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment starts with the first phone call. During this call, I will take the time to understand you and the reason(s) you are seeking therapy.

More Info About My Practice

I provide free phone consultations. During the phone call, I take the time to understand your needs and reasons for seeking therapy. We will discuss your options for payment and I will contact your insurance company (if you plan to use your insurance) to confirm in-network status and determine your out-of-pocket responsibility.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Making the decision to talk to a therapist can be stressful. Taking the first step to call or email can be overwhelming and sometimes scary. It is normal to feel anxious about starting something new. I will facilitate our time together with the focus to reduce your discomfort and work towards the needs you identify.
