My Approach to Helping

As a mother, wife and woman I have realized how demanding the world can be for us. In this process of living and professionally, I have learned many ways to cope. I want to give back the things I have learned that have helped me heal!
I work with women who may be struggling with stress, anxiety and lack of self-confidence. Those who find themselves feeling overwhelmed with life's events and unable to cope. Ruminating about the past can make us feel stuck, lost, and struggling to find an answer. Typical sessions with me include: diving deep into the difficulties you are experiencing, and discussing what you want your life to look like after therapy. I will teach you how to get your life and self back.

More Info About My Practice

After getting to know you, I use the treatment modality that best fits your needs. I specialize in EMDR ( Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy), this type of therapy utilizes bi-lateral movement (tapping, rapid eye movement) in order to re-process past and current events that have created a negative belief of yourself. I also utilize Accelerated Experimental-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) a style of therapy that helps people cope with their emotions through unique tools, techniques, and approaches designed to challenge thought patterns and processes. These approaches encourage healing from within through exploration, acceptance, and change. By working on negative beliefs of yourself, coping and acceptance you can learn to feel more present, move past your fear, discover your strengths, and empower yourself to live your present.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I believe everyone has the capacity to change for the better. I believe each individual possesses their own key to healing and strength. I think mental health difficulties can be a result of learned negative beliefs, trauma and difficulty coping. As a child, I suffered from bullying, anxiety and traumatic events. Through my own therapy, I learned how to be more compassionate towards my self, and learn how to express and cope with my emotions. Today, I teach others to do the same. I am involved in art and music and have been for all my life. I believe art is a safe way to express ourselves! If you want to learn more about how I can help, visit my website or send a message.
