What's My Approach to Therapy?
I believe that healing begins with understanding, and my approach to care is grounded in respect, active listening, and building trust with my patients. As a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I'm dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based mental health care that addresses both your immediate needs and long-term wellness goals.
My career has given me a unique perspective on the vital connection between physical and mental health. I began my nursing career at Georgetown University Hospital, working in neurology and neurosurgery, where I developed a deep appreciation for how our brain health impacts our emotional well-being. This foundation has proven invaluable as I transitioned into psychiatric nursing, where I've gained extensive experience across diverse settings.
I've worked on Yale New Haven Hospital's inpatient psychiatric unit, served on Stamford Hospital's psychiatric consult-liaison team working with patients in emergency and medical settings, and provided outpatient psychiatric care through medication management and therapy. This broad experience means I understand mental health challenges across the full spectrum—from acute crises to ongoing outpatient support.
I take a comprehensive approach to psychiatric care, recognizing that you are a whole person, not just a diagnosis. Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), bipolar condition, or other mental health conditions, I work collaboratively with you to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your values and goals. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with therapeutic support, ensuring you receive both the medical expertise and emotional understanding you deserve.
I'm committed to supporting you through every stage of your mental health journey, meeting you exactly where you are with compassion and clinical excellence.
