My Approach to Helping

LifeWork Counseling: Solutions That Work! Finding solutions that work is not simply a catchy phrase. Rather, it is the mission of my counseling practice. Counseling is a collaborative process I enter with my clients to assist them in finding solutions to the concerns they want to address.

LifeWork helps our clients find solutions that work for challenging personal problems. Our professional and compassionate team of counselors rely on evidence-based practices. We are licensed professionals whoa re highly qualified to treat a variety of mental health difficulties, including mood disorders, addictions, grief, anxiety, loss, family issues, and relationship concerns.

LifeWork Counseling serves the residents of Hinsdale, Oakbrook, and the surrounding areas. Nestled in a private, quiet wooded area in Old Oakbrook, our unique location offers a tranquil and quiet setting to explore your emotions.

More Info About My Practice

What makes LifeWork Counseling different is our quality care and welcoming environment. Our facility is a home located on a five-acre wooded area in the middle of the forest. Our clients find our facility so relaxing that they frequently arrive early to enjoy the view or relax by the fireplace. We work with couples, individuals, and entire families, and treat all ages. We're able to employ a variety of tactics to encourage change, and rely on creative interventions with children and teenagers, including narrative approaches, play therapy, media, and drama.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am relationship specialist. My passion is about transformation. With a background in professional counseling and executive coaching I have the opportunity to help people overcome challenges in their interpersonal relationships. I listen carefully, respond empathically, and provide tools, strategies, and support that help people find solutions to their problems. Transformation is achieved when relationships become authentic, intimate, and lasting.

An area of great concern today is people who don't know how to break out of negative communication patterns. It impacts their marriages, parent-child relationships, friendships, and/or working relationships. I am gifted in the area of helping people understand each other. Whether its couples in conflict or a parent-child struggle, I am able to see the negative patterns people get locked into, and help them learn how to understand each other and work together to build a mutually respectful and caring relationship.

I have written a new book about relationships called Bringing Respect Back: Communicating Without Conflict. In it I address respect, a missing element that contributes to a breakdown in relationships. I teach my readers how to give and earn respect by offering tools and strategies that improves communication and builds trust. The dual benefit is less conflict and more connection.
