My Approach to Helping
You might be wondering what makes a therapeutic relationship different from other relationships in our lives…When we consider how many of our struggles and how much of our pain relates to our earliest experiences in relationships, is it any wonder that this is where the healing happens too? It is in these safe and trusting therapeutic relationships where we can start to reveal ourselves and move towards healing.
I am a relaxed, compassionate, and collaborative clinician that utilizes psychodynamic, client-centered, and cognitive behavioral theories to build a relationship and work with you towards having a life worth living. As well, I am LGBTQIA affirmative and HAES and intuitive eating aligned.
My clinical experience comes from working with folks struggling with addictive and compulsive behaviors including, but not limited to, substance use, gambling, sex and pornography, eating disorders, and those transitioning out of the criminal justice system.
I am firmly rooted in understanding you as a whole person. I believe that a disconnect from our sense of self can create suffering in our lives. As we work together to acknowledge and understand your past experiences and begin to reaffirm your feelings of personal worth you begin to undo and replace many of these problematic beliefs and patterns. When you are ready, I am committed to providing comprehensive treatment that meets you where you’re at in a safe and nonjudgmental space.
I would love to work with you on developing the necessary skills to manage and move through the complex experiences associated with the pain, confusion, shame, or fear that has brought you to my page. If you think we might be a good fit, please reach out to schedule a free consultation!
