My Approach to Helping
Hello! I am a Licensed Psychologist with 17 years of experiencing providing counseling to adolescents and adults. My style is warm, curious, and laid back. My goal is to listen deeply and carefully in order to understand you and your unique experiences. I strive to create an environment that is collaborative and welcoming. Through this safe, therapeutic relationship, we can explore and understand your past experiences so that you can relate more freely with others, have more satisfying relationships, and gain greater self-awareness and confidence. My therapeutic approach is rooted in attachment, relational, and psychodynamic approaches, meaning that I value how your relationships influence and support you.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Women's Interpersonal Process Group
Group is a good fit for people who have trouble asking for what they wantneed, want to feel closer to friendspartner, want to understand why relationships keep ending, want to feel less socially anxious, & have difficulty being vulnerable.
How does group work?
During the course of 16 weeks, group members will be invited to 1) notice their reactions & feelings in the moment towards themselves and others & to share them with the group and 2) share the emotionally significant aspects of their lives, over time, with the group.
Most people are not used to speaking so directly and honestly to each other so it can be both exhilarating & scary. Everyone goes at their own pace and shares when ready. The reason group works is because over time, group members relate to each other in the same way that they relate to people in their lives. Therefore, group serves as a unique opportunity to get feedback about interpersonal ?blind spots? and to practice new ways of relating in a supportive environment. Safety, acceptance, and compassionate feedback are at the heart of group therapy. Group members care about each other deeply and the support you will receive will help you feel more confident and trusting in your relationships.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
Counseling can be helpful when you feel like you do not have the personal resources to get through a difficult situation or time in your life. You may feel like you are drowning, can't breathe, or that there is an elephant on your chest. Sometimes there is a trigger and sometimes it's hard to identify one. Therapy can help you gain awareness into your difficulties and help you find the first step forward. I am honored to walk this path with my clients.
