My Approach to Helping
My approach to therapy begins with a commitment to mutual respect. Too often, our younger population is demanded to give respect, without receiving it in return. My practice is built on the understanding that my clients are experts in their own lives, and are humans deserving of the same level of respect that I would expect from them. This is true no matter the age, identity, background, or behaviors of the client I am working with.
I am a firm believer in working with each individual client as a team to figure out what the best treatment plan will be. I have had enough experiences, personal and professional, to know that one single approach does not work for every person. I made a promise to myself a long time ago that I would never become stagnant in learning and exploring different approaches to working with clients. Because of that, I am committed to continually researching, reading, and taking courses to always have a well-rounded and ever expanding “bank” of tools, ideas, and treatment modalities to share with you.
