My Approach to Helping
Are you feeling lost? Confused? Facing difficulties in your relationships or in understanding yourself? I know that therapy can help. Together we will work to unearth the problems that have been causing difficulties in your relationships or ability to navigate challenges. I seek to empower and understand you, knowing that you come to therapy with numerous strengths to draw upon.
I believe strongly that people can change and discover new patterns for living through therapy. All of us move through life making connections with others and facing challenges within ourselves. At times our challenges overwhelm us or we have difficulty connecting with others. Psychotherapy can help you to think through problems, discover solutions, and deepen your relationships with others and yourself.
My therapeutic techniques are eclectic, meaning that I use techniques and theories best suited to each client. I am mindful of the ways that trauma influences life experience and therapeutic practice. I am affirming and open-minded while encouraging you to try new ideas or behaviors that support your healing.
I work with a wide range of clients in age, race, and sexual orientation. I have significant experience in addressing spiritual concerns and religious trauma. I will help you not just address immediate thoughts and feelings you are experiencing, but also what brings meaning and purpose to your life.
