How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy is a form of treatment designed to help you make healthy decisions for your life, and to work through interpersonal issues you may have. Psychotherapy can help you learn things about yourself that you have never known before. It can help you uncover things that have been locked in your subconscious mind for years. It can help you build upon your self esteem, replenish your relationships, and achieve your personal goals In life. Cognitive Behavioral therapy is my primary treatment modality. CBT teaches us that our thoughts, affect our feelings, and our feelings affect our behaviors. Using the CBT model my goal is to assist you in changing those negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors into more positive thoughts, feelings and behaviors which could improve the quality of your life.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
No one is exempt from experiencing life's problems. At some point in life, we all will face some challenges. What I have learned is that everyone does not have the proper coping skills to deal with those problems. Counseling is one way you can learn to deal with those problems. I believe counseling can help you develop the skills you need to face the challenges of life. Change is hard. But with commitment and hard work, positive change is possible.
