My Approach to Helping

Are you or your child struggling with worries, sadness, fears or stress? Have you or your child noticed a change from how things used to be to how they are right now? Have you ever wanted to have psychological testing done to figure out why or how your brain works? My style is warm, attuned, and empathetic to be able to meet you at whichever stage of life you\'re in and to help explore the difficulties that arise in everyday life. I will actively listen to your experiences from a strengths-based perspective while also teaching you the necessary skills to improve confidence and reduce stress. You or your child deserve the opportunity to feel heard, respected, and safe. I strive to work with you to make steps towards living a life that feels satisfying and fulfilled. I enjoy working with children, teens, young adults, and families. I specialize in working with stress management, social skills, early childhood, autism spectrum disorder, attachment concerns, trauma, PTSD, anxiety and depression. I provide individual and family therapy. I also provide assessments, including adult ASD diagnostic evals, cognitive and IQ testing, personality style testing (which can help with setting therapy goals), and ADHD evaluations to all age groups.

Receiving a psychological evaluation does not mean you have to begin therapy services. In some cases this may be recommended, however there are many cases where people are curious to learn more about themselves without wanting to take steps towards starting therapy. If you are interested in testing-only, reach out to me via email for a free consultation where we can discuss the process.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Making the first step towards starting therapy is huge. For many people, we learn from a young age that talking about our thoughts and feelings is something taboo or too vulnerable because others won't understand or will judge us or our families. If you have been debating whether or not to go to therapy, or people in your life have recommended therapy and you're not sure it's what you want, I'd encourage you to think about how your life is going in this moment. Is it how you imagined it would be or do you wish things were different? Are there any areas where you're struggling or past events that you wish you could talk about to a neutral person? Do you have any goals you want to reach in your social, emotional or academic life but it's been a challenge to do on your own? If you answered yes to some, or all, of these questions then therapy would be worth exploring. For some people therapy is brief, and for some it is a life-long journey. Reach out today for a free 15-minute consultation where we can discuss whether therapy or a psychological evaluation would be a fit for you and to start your path towards healing and exploring all the parts of who you are.
