My Approach to Helping
I believe that we all have the tools within us to create the life we want to live. In therapy, we will uncover these tools and work through issues that you are facing to create positive changes and rebuild relationships. People understand why they need a cast for a broken bone or stitches for a cut, however, when they are suffering from depression, anxiety, insecurities, boundary setting, fears, grief, relationship problems, etc. it can be isolating at times and very difficult to seek help.
Here’s what I want you to know: it is okay to not be okay. I am passionate about working with all different types of individuals (children, adolescents, adults, families) with a wide variety of disorders and issues. My background includes school based counseling and both inpatient and out-patient individual therapy working through a variety of presenting problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse disorders, family and relational issues, disordered eating, mood disorders, suicidal ideation, and personality disorders. I am also well versed in group therapy, including process groups and groups with the UCLA PEERs Clinic where I assisted neurodiverse individuals with relational skills and other social challenges.
I believe each individual has their own unique story to tell and that they are the expert of their lives. I will work with you at your own pace using your strengths to create safe, inviting, and open therapeutic space that promotes communication and trust to further enhance your personal growth.
