My Approach to Therapy

Reaching out to a therapist can be a difficult step to take. I know the profound pain that can come when dealing with mental health challenges, including addiction...yours, or as a family member affected by another person's addictive behaviors. I understand how traumatic it feels to grow up with an addicted or emotionally immature parent, or how it feels to be in an unhealthy relationship. These experiences can lead to devastating feelings - shame, abandonment, depression, anxiety, isolation, anger, & much more. I invite you to share your feelings in a safe & nonjudgmental space where you can feel understood & heard. It is important to explore the past & how your attachment to your people has shaped your approach to life. I work with all types of trauma, including complex, relational & developmental trauma, sexual abuse, & traumatic grief. I integrate EMDR Therapy, Mindfulness, and other modalities, to assist you with healing your pain so you can live a fulfilling life. I would like to guide you toward uncovering your inner resources & collaborate with you on identifying thoughtful, solution-focused, strength based interventions. Through this work, I will help you make sense of the past and recognize unhealthy patterns so you can move toward creating a more balanced, inspired & soul-centered life for yourself, leading you to find your joy.

My View on How Therapy can Be Transformative

I believe meaningful therapy can begin within a relationship grounded in safety, acceptance, compassion, and genuine human connection. When you feel truly seen and understood without judgment, you can begin to explore even the most painful parts of your experiences. My role is not to “fix” you, but to support you in understanding yourself more deeply and move toward the changes that matter to you. Through therapeutic presence, emotional capacity, and clinical skill, I strive to provide a space where you can share your most profound experiences of trauma and grief, and know that you will be met with compassion and understanding. An attuned therapeutic relationship can offer an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, increase your capacity to rediscover meaning and joy, and move toward a life that feels more authentic, connected, and whole.
