My Approach to Helping
Are you in pain, unhappy, lonely, or stuck and wanting a change for yourself? A desire for change is an important and necessary first step. Yet as much as we desperately want things to change, we often get in our own way of making it come true. Does this sound familiar to you? By seeking help now, you can start to move out of your own way and make the next move towards achieving the relief and change that you want. In my experience as a psychologist, I have found that people hold the answer to change and healing within them. I believe that you have what it takes to heal and to feel better. My role involves helping you find this and use it towards relief, growth, and lasting change.
I believe that part of what makes my work effective is my deep respect for the therapeutic relationship. When I sit with you, I will bring my authentic self into the room along with genuine compassion, warmth, and nonjudgment. People who work with me feel safe, understood, respected, and empowered by me. This space is necessary for change and often is the core avenue for healing.
I will integrate various therapeutic techniques into our relational space based on what you need, your preferences, as well as the literature on what is effective. All the while, I will remain attentive and attuned to your unique needs and will work in collaboration with you to tailor our work accordingly.
