My Approach to Helping
Jess Pfeifer assists her clients in navigating successfully through high-risk behaviors such as self-sabotaging. She is knowledgeable and skilled in her practice and can confidently respond to her clients’ previous or current traumas. Jess believes the secret ingredient to effective therapy is connecting with her clients by showing up as her authentic self. She is gentle, yet direct and taps into innate strengths and abilities that every person has, whether they realize it yet or not. By utilizing these strengths, clients can create lasting progress, self-awareness, personal growth, and navigate through the hard stuff in their past that continues to show up in their present.
Jess has post graduate training specializing in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Health and Wellness Lifestyle Medicine (HWLM) which inform her practice through a holistic approach, to help those who are suffering. She has extensive multicultural experience from working at the Colorado Department of Human Services as a Youth Service Specialist, in which she worked with a variety of individuals struggling with the effects of trauma on their mental health. Additionally, she has worked in the corporate business management sector. Through Jess’s diverse life and work experiences, she has developed a unique ability to connect with people from various walks of life.
When not at Foundations, Jess can be found tending her garden, watching movies, or cozied up reading a book. Born to an overseas traveling military family, she developed a love for other cultures and their ways of life, particularly their cooking styles and cuisine.
