What's My Approach to Therapy?

Kasi Hill looks forward to accompanying you on your path as you nurture the connection between mind, body, and soul, navigating through life's celebrations and challenges. She has a rich background in life's complex experiences and aims to help you connect with your inner wisdom, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Kasi believes therapy is for everyone, and yet recognizes that not every therapist fits every client perfectly. Her approach focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment while also holding clients accountable for their decisions and life choices.

At Foundations Counseling, Kasi Hill works with individuals, couples, and families facing diverse challenges. These include:

· Children, Adolescents, and Teens – anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation, self-esteem, identity, and motivation challenges, school stress, academic burnout, peer relationships, family transitions, including divorce and loss of a loved one, and foster care, Trauma, bullying, anger, and defiance, communication skills, and healthy relationship-building

· Health and Wellness – stress management and boundary setting, sexual health and intimacy concerns, grief, trauma, and PTSD recovery, body image, self-confidence, and weight-related challenges, integrative, mind-body approaches to healing

· Life Transitions – pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting support, navigating life stages, identity shifts, and career changes, college burnout, newlywed adjustment, and role transitions, high-stress careers such as first responders, police, doctors, reintroduction to community after incarceration, coping with terminal illness, miscarriage, and profound loss

· Relationship and Family issues – communication issues, attachment issues, intimacy issues, couples counseling

Kasi Hill has a dual Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado Christian University. She also earned a graduate certificate in Advanced Clinical Behavioral Health from Colorado State University and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Northern Colorado.

Kasi uses a blend of Poly-Vagal Theory, Behaviorism, and Existential Therapy. She particularly appreciates Choice Theory because it emphasizes personal responsibility and the power of making conscious decisions to improve one's life. This approach empowers clients to understand how choices impact well-being and helps clients take meaningful control of their lives.

Kasi’s approach to counseling is deeply rooted in her lived experiences and the social landscapes she’s navigated. As a survivor of trauma, she intimately understands the complexity of seeking real, lasting relief, and the courage it takes to begin that journey. Her path began a decade ago, when she stepped into advocacy for those whose voices had been silenced by fear or circumstance. For the past eight years, Kasi has championed women and parents who’ve been dismissed or left behind by the medical system, offering validation, support, and a space to be heard. She has worked extensively in play therapy with children and families in foster care and those considered at risk, bringing warmth and stability to lives marked by uncertainty. Her work also includes supporting individuals reentering society after incarceration or juvenile involvement, helping them reclaim identity, purpose, and belonging.
