Looking for a therapist can be discouraging but the fact that you're reading over profiles is a great start! Taking time to find the right therapist for you is important because he or she holds a very trusted position in your life.

Everyone experiences difficulties in life, it's how you deal with them that matters!

Are you having internal struggles?

Do you have anxiety that causes you to stay awake at night?
Are you feeling sadness that clouds all the good that happens?
Do you have feelings of guilt or shame that keeps you from experiencing genuine love and affection in your relationships?
Have you had a hard time recovering from a loss?

How would it feel to be free of those feelings that are causing you to lose precious days of your life?

Are you having difficulties with your family?

Are you having difficulty parenting?
Are your children running your life?
Are your grown siblings or parents asking too much of you and causing resentments?

How would it feel to set healthy boundaries with friends, family, and children and feel GOOD about having time to spend the way you choose?

Is your relationship causing you pain?

Have you grown apart and don't know how to build a bridge back to your partner?
Do you feel like the only communication that you have always ends up with hurt feelings and fighting?
Are you jealous of the relationships that you think your friends and family members have?
Are you questioning your sexuality or having sexual difficulties with your partner?

Talking to an empathetic, non-judgmental, objective, caring individual can help you achieve insight and focus on these or other issues that are keeping you from being your best. I can help you gain a new perspective and learn tools that will help you to communicate in healthier ways, clear your mind of the static, make decisions easier, and rid yourself of old patterns.

Your life didn't get this way overnight and it won't be fixed that quickly either but taking the first step today will give you the confidence and motivation to evaluate what isn't working and make the necessary changes to have the life you really want.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

What keeps you from seeking help? Are you worried about what others will say? Are you concerned that you will be judged? Do you think your problems are big enough or that your families problems are too freaky? Please believe me when I tell you that no problem is too big or too small. Everyone has problems and everyone could use help from time to time. Sometimes it just takes the perspective of someone that is objective about the situation to be able to add clarity to the situation.

What do you have to lose? Perhaps the better question is what might you gain? What if a few sessions could help you connect with a family member that you've been at odds with over a long standing situation? Poor communication is often the reason for the breakdown in all types of relationships. Don't give up! Give therapy a try!

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

If you've had a negative therapy experience in the past, I encourage you to at least give it another try. My office is a safe nonjudgmental space where you can share as little or as much as you feel comfortable. There is no pressure and you are the leader of our journey together. I always have a supply of tissues handy if the session leads us in that direction but I also have clay and crayons if you feel playful!
