I focus my counseling work with teen girls and young adult women. We all go through seasons of life in which we need help navigating through challenges, discouragements, and dark times. I work to help teens and women wrestle with the pain that has brought them to therapy in order to overcome it and live the life they want to live. Many of the issues people see me for counseling include building self-esteem and self-worth, healing from personal or parental divorce or infidelity, healing from abusive relationships and working through depression and anxiety.

In counseling, we work together and build off your strengths to address the challenges you face. Our work is collaborative and encouraging, but at times I may be more directive and challenging.

Individual Therapy
Our work together in counseling is conversational and casual. We will work together to establish your goals for therapy. Each week, we may talk about whatever is most pressing to you, but I will ensure that we are consistently working toward your goals. I encourage you to take an active role in our work together: to ask questions, voice concerns and honestly share your thoughts and feelings. Most issues that are related to a limited situation can be addressed with short-term therapy. When exploring more complex issues, counseling may take longer.

My work with individuals includes working through depression and anxiety, including OCD tendencies; healing from abusive relationships; recovering from divorce or infidelity; and working through a period of adjustment when you would like to work on who you are.

Adolescent Therapy
Our work together is conversational and causal; sometimes we play games or make collages. I work with both the parents and the teen to establish and build therapeutic goals so that both parties are satisfied. Though my work will be primarily with the teen, there will be times that a session with a parent or the family is beneficial.

My work with adolescents often includes supporting the client with school, social and familial related problems, including specifics such as ADHD, building a better reputation at school, and sibling rivalry.

I work with teens facing depression and anxiety, or simply having a hard time adjusting. Part of our work together includes building self-esteem and self-worth which enables the client to go on to make healthier and better choices for themselves.
