Life can be busy so for your convenience, evening and Saturday appointments are offered to navigate your work and school schedule. I also offer therapy through video chat via a HIPAA compliant software comparable to Skype and in some cases I offer in-home therapy (please note additional fees apply).
What I Usually Need to Know to Help
Typically therapy begins with a comprehensive assessment, during which I will ask you about a variety of questions to help me begin to conceptualize what is perpetuating the problem you are presenting with. The assessment is designed to elicit information regarding your presenting concern(s) and your history (family, social, relationship, legal, mental health, etc.). Although this may seem intrusive it can be beneficial in narrowing down solutions to your problems, finding appropriate treatment techniques and setting therapeutic goals. If you are not ready to share some information please feel free to tell me. Remember, this is about you!

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
Therapy sessions are typically 45-50 minutes in length and held once each week. In some cases more frequent sessions are indicated or desired and this can be arranged at your convenience. As progress toward goals is made therapy can be titrated down in frequency to suit your needs. For some, therapy is a brief experience, only lasting a few sessions, while for others longer term therapy is needed. The ultimate goal is for you to gain the skills, confidence and resources you need so therapy is no longer needed.
