My Approach to Helping
I work in a supportive, collaborative style helping people tap their inner resources and learn new skills to better cope with life's challenges. Sometimes it is hard to ask for help, but we all need some assistance from time to time.

We can work together in a variety of ways depending on your needs. In addition to the traditional talk therapy, I can help you learn some stress management techniques, or we could work with art materials.

Calling to ask for help is the first step to feeling better.

More Info About My Practice
My office is conveniently located and I offer appointments at a variety of times, including evenings. I accept several types insurance: Cigna, Magellan, American Behavioral, Compsych, Victims of Crime, and Victim Witness. If you have a PPO insurance it will often cover out of network therapists. I can also print you a statement for reimbursement from your insurance company.

My Role as a Therapist

My role is to provide support to clients in finding their way to improved functioning, emotional health, enhanced relationships, and renewed joy in their lives. I will not tell my clients what to do, but I will support them in finding their own path. Using my training and experience I help clients learn new coping skills, build on strengths and identify resources for change.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

The most important thing in therapy is the client/therapist relationship. There are many types of therapy and therapists, so despite a past negative experience in therapy it might still be helpful for you. It is important to find a therapist you feel comfortable with, who works in a style appropriate to your situation and your personality. If you have questions or concerns about the style or progress of therapy you should be able to discuss this openly with your therapist. Sometimes a therapist who is a good fit for your friend is not a good fit for you.
