My Approach to Helping
I work with people who are experiencing many different kinds of difficulties and emotional challenges. many of the people I see have experienced some kind of trauma such as emotional and physical abuse, medical problems, traffic accident, family problems, bereavement and loss. I help people regain a sense of control after periods of overwhelm and trauma. I work collaboratively, bringing a spacious and non-judgmental attitude together with experience and respect for people's efforts to live the best life they have been able to. I help people to find their own way, establishing ways to calm and find stability, befriending the body and nurturing self respect and a sense of integrity.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Therapy for me is about making repairs, helping my clients regain/ gain a sense of personal empowerment often after overwhelm and traumatic experiences where being over powered/ overwhelmed is a key part of what brings people to therapy. As a therapist I place a great deal of importance in the way we build the therapeutic relationship, one in which repairs can occur and my clients can experience more of who they are, more vitality, meaningfulness, satisfaction, healing and the experience of being whole heartedly supported.
