My Approach to Therapy

Ultimately, I’m passionate about supporting you. You choose what intrinsic and extrinsic life experiences you'd prefer to have. Tell me what's not working in your life, what emotions you wish to no longer feel, and what behaviors you'd like to no longer repeat. We'll target, identify & dismantle the cycles that create and maintain those unwanted patterns. We'll create the direction, motivation and progress that allows you to build the external outcomes you'd like to reach, as well as the emotions you want to consistently feel. I'm very assertive in my therapeutic process. I hold my clients accountable and point out patterns that create and maintain unwanted habits, thoughts, emotions, behaviors or outcomes. I have a very goal oriented approach to therapy, I place a higher value on creating measurable progress as opposed to spending extended time deeply developing insight around the past.

My Practice & Services

Therapy is about personal growth, healthy life-style changes, and improved outcomes. I specialize in working with adults who experience depression, anxiety disorders (agoraphobia, panic disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias), OCD, insomnia, chronic pain, relationship challenges, heartbreak, phase-of-life stressors, procrastination behaviors & LGBTQ race related trauma. My goal is to foster an authentic, comfortable, and safe therapeutic environment where we can explore opportunities for positive change. Please message me.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

All therapeutic, billing & scheduling services are provided through the Therapy Notes virtual platform. The sessions are around one hour, and depending on your preferences, availability or budget - we can schedule weekly sessions, sessions every two or three weeks, sessions every month, or sessions on an "as needed' basis where you reach out to me when needed.

Groups I Work With

I have worked with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, age groups, and presenting challenges. As a member of the community myself, I practice LGBTQ - affirming therapy. As a black woman and child of immigrant parents, I also personally understand and provide specialized services to those who have been impacted by race related trauma, micro-aggression, cultural assimilation challenges, and social injustice. I've practiced both in San Francisco & Los Angeles for the past five years. Throughout my time in California, I've received a lot of experience working with young adults employed by Hollywood's entertainment industry or the Bay area's tech industry. These have served as opportunities for me to really absorb and better understand the unique occupational and cultural concerns, pressures, and challenges faced by those working & living in these communities.
