My Approach to Helping
Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. Over the past 15 years, I have helped individuals and couples from many socioeconomic backgrounds, with a variety of concerns. I have found that people really just want to feel understood, and to improve their connection with themselves and with others. I will take the time to hear your story. Some clients need me to be a sounding board, while others need more direction or straightforward feedback. I care about what you need from my role as a therapist. I will strive to create a trusting, non-judgmental, and warm relationship with you.
I have pursued continuing education in variety of psychological theories and therapeutic approaches, and I believe they can all be useful, depending on a client's needs. I typically use those that are humanistic, holistic, motivational, psychodynamic, existential, and cognitive-behavioral. I believe that you have unique values and life experiences that will help you reach your desired goals. I will seek your feedback about how our sessions are going, to make sure that we are meeting your therapy needs.
More Info About My Practice
I currently have evening and weekend hours available. I am in-network with several insurance plans, including BCBS, Cigna, Value Options, and Humana LifeSynch. I can take other insurance, if you have out-of-network benefits.
