My Approach to Helping
There are times in which the capacity to tap into our innate wisdom and inner resources to understand, manage and resolve internal or external conflict is difficult. We can't seem to make the changes we want or imagine for ourselves and may feel limited, stuck, and not quite ourself. This internal or external conflict/distress may show up in our relationships or as anxiety, insecurity, depression, compulsive or addictive behaviors and other 'unnatural mind states.' It is during these times that the process of therapy can be a help. I believe that learning to recognize, understand, and consciously get to know our inner world and how we operate in a focused, supportive, and compassionate environment is a big part of the therapeutic process. I work holistically and value the connection between one's mind/body/and spirit. I often say that "it all happens in relationship"....either to ourself or others. I offer my presence, encouragement, and faith in the person's inherent potential to find a means in which to feel better and live more fully in their True Self.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
To quote Rumi, "Let the beauty that you love be what you do, there are a thousand ways to kneel down and Kiss the ground."
I love being a therapist because of the inherent beauty of the work. Not the western version of beauty but the experience of the beautiful in which we feel lifted up, full, delighted in the moment of being with another human being.....in a shared experience of our humanity. I love that I work in a profession where I must bring my heart and soul to work with me in order to lend my whole presence to another person who is in need of deep listening, compassion and facilitation of their befriending of themselves.l kindness
