My Approach to Helping

I work with couples and individuals to determine their goals for their relationships or for themselves and like to stay on track with those goals. I use all the training and experience I've accumulated in my 30+ years of practice to help my clients achieve their goals for healing and growth. My approach to change is pragmatic, blending a belief that we find happiness by "changing what we can change and accepting what we can't change" and by discovering and eliminating ways we sabotage ourselves. My work has been most heavily influenced by the humanistic psychotherapies of the 70's (TA, Gestalt, Redecision, etc.) and by Imago Relationship Therapy. I am a certified Imago Therapist and Workshop Presenter. I also teach assertiveness training both individually and in a 6-week seminar I've developed called The Assertive Person.

More Info About My Practice

I don't file insurance claims and I'm no longer on any provider lists. My standard fee is $125 per hour, for individual or couples therapy and I accept cash, checks or credit cards and provide clients with a receipt they can file with their insurance plan. I do sometimes reduce my fee; call me about that.
