Description
This weekly therapy group is specific to mothers recovering from emotional maladaptations stemming from being raised in dysfunctional family systems (narcissistic and/or emotionally immature parents). The goal is to increase personal responsibility and skill development for increased functionality in your own emotional, behavioral, and relational health, while holding understanding for your struggles due to trauma and wounds from your parents or childhood. Group sessions include psychoeducation and group skill practice and processing of topics such as emotional competency, attachment, boundaries, healthy communication, blame and shame, control and avoidance, emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and other skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other therapies.
