My Approach to Helping
We find ourselves in exciting times where therapy and mental health are being openly discussed. While these conversations have started, there is still a long way to go toward understanding. In these fast-paced times, we’ve become so used to finding quick and easy answers. Anxiety. Depression. Symptoms aren’t always enemies to be vanquished as quickly as possible. They can be messengers alerting us of deeper issues. They bare a warning that our outlook or relationships are unhealthy and in need of attention. If we choose to look inward and treat the essence of this problem, the symptoms will no longer have a reason to be.
Change follows a journey. The first steps are on safe ground, accompanied by camaraderie and good humor. And after we find our feet, we ready ourselves for the challenges ahead. Confronting our flaws, revisiting our past, shining a light on the dark corners of our minds. Not everyone will make it to the end.
