My Approach to Helping

Update for COVID-19 My practice will remain open during the lockdown. I will be offering therapy via video conferencing. Email InnerQuestTim@hushmail.com for detailed instructions>>>. The entire family is affected when one has an addiction. My practice is unlike other addiction treatment in that my main focus is on the family dynamics that create and are influenced by a person who is in the addictive behavior cycle. My specialty is person who either refuse treatment or can't seem to benefit from traditional therapies. As a Licensed and Certified Mental Health therapist with 30 years experience in the helping professions, I offer compassionate, non-judgemental approaches combined with cognitive and behavioral therapies. I specialize in Internet addiction, sexual addiction, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, depression, spiritual counseling and more.

More Info About My Practice

My families have told me they have found help and improvement with me where others were unable to provide real change. I am one of only a very few treatment specialists in WNY who have done original scientific studies on addiction as well as having the opportunity to work alongs side some of the top experts in the field. This combined with extensive experience makes me the top choice in this area for help with addiction.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

The purpose of psychotherapy is to help the family see what dynamics are continuing to influence the addictive cycle as well as how affect change in those communications that create lasting positive change. When working one on one, psychotherapy will help the client to identify self defeating thoughts, beliefs and resulting life choices and then to replace the with healthy affirmations and core beliefs. My role is to help the client see how he or she can find happiness and joy and success by making changes in their thought patterns and behavior choices.
