My Approach to Helping
Do you wake up and struggle to get going with your day? Do you have unhelpful thoughts or emotions that make you feel stuck or helpless? Maybe you have felt like giving up because nothing seems to help you feel any different. Everyone has the desire to feel secure and connected but this task can feel impossible when you are fighting your own personal war.
I take a compassion-based therapy approach applying CBT techniques to help reduce anxiety, depression and trauma symptoms. My primary goal is to create a safe, judgement free space for you to be honest and raw while fostering growth. I specialize in working with individuals and families struggling with toxic andor difficult parents and the symptoms it can cause such as anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles.
We will work together to build an understanding of boundaries. I will support you as you practice using and maintaining boundaries within your relationships. I will help you advocate for your needs by saying 'no' to taking on extra tasks when you need a break. Together we will rebuild your self-confidence and self-esteem by strengthening your relationship with yourself. Together we will develop coping strategies that help you feel more grounded and empowered.
