Marshal Compton, PhD

I am a clinical psychologist with a deep interest in helping those suffering from depression, trauma, relationship troubles, and anger issues. I have a passion for exploring aspects of life and patterns of behavior that prevent people from feeling able to handle day-to-day struggles. For over 20 years I have been helping individuals improve their lives and achieve their goals. Collaboratively, I will work with you to develop psychological tools to allow you to handle conflict better, to feel better, and to gain a better understanding of yourself. In my office, you will find a caring, safe, and confidential environment in which you can talk freely about the difficulties that confront you. I focus on creating a space and relationship that will allow you to be heard. I understand the impacts of difficult life events and among others have experience dealing with repercussions of alcoholism. Together we can work to manage your conflicts and towards feeling more alive.

I have an interest in Jungian-oriented psychotherapy and, when appropriate, allowing dreams to help the therapeutic process.

We all encounter suffering in life and sometimes we find ourselves in distress or losing our direction. I view therapy as a way towards regaining control of life--to relieve suffering, to lessen distress, and to re-awaken us to our purpose. Through the process of reflection and education, it allows us to develop and share our innate gifts.

I am here to listen, to support, and to find solutions to your problems. It is a collaborative effort that involves reflection and dialogue. My role is to resolve the conflict that has been troubling you and help you to discover those missing pieces in your life. Using my professional, academic, and personal experience, I will help you to develop that inside part of yourself that seeks expression.
