My Approach to Helping

"What lies behind you and what lies in front of you pales in comparison to what lies within you" -Ralph Waldo Emerson

My approach to helping you is one that incorporates examining relevant aspects of your past, discussing goals you might hold for your future, and most importantly, discuss the strength that you hold inside of you. In experiencing despair and the discomfort of vulnerability we often lose sight of our strength and potential for growth. My goal is to assist you in learning the essential coping skills you might be needing in your life. I also aim to facilitate growth in the realms of mind, body, and soul.

I understand the correlation between the physical and psychological aspects in life, which can sometimes become unbalanced and may create discomfort, which can even feel debilitating at times, and want to help you make sense of some of the symptoms you may be experiencing. Contact me to restore the balance in your life and be free of the despair or dissatisfaction you may be currently experiencing.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am trained as a generalist and integrate various methods of treatment to best suit you. I am trained in psychodynamic theory and therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Depending on the problems you present in therapy with, I will work from a perspective that best suits your individual needs. Additionally, I have a concentration in health psychology. With my general knowledge of clinical psychology and areas of specialty within health psychology, I am skilled in helping you overcome depression, anxiety, eating disorders, body image issues, trauma, relational issues, caregiver stress, chronic illness, chronic pain, grief, burn-out, and adjustment to transitions in life. My passion for psychology comes from getting to know you, hearing your unique experiences, working through change and arriving at a place of acceptance, together.
