My Approach to Helping
I work with adults and couples who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship, or family difficulties. I also help my clients navigate infertility, new motherhood, and pregnancy. I offer both long-term insight-oriented therapy and solution-focused therapy to hep clients with a range of issues related to relationships, moods, emotional and physical issues, and life circumstances. I also work with interfaith, interracial, and intercultural couples to facilitate productive communication about sensitive issues.
I have spent the last twelve years honing my expertise in a range of clinical settings, including university counseling centers at USF, Augsburg, and Stanford University and the UCSF AIDS Health Project. I completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the Hamm Clinic, where I deepened my intensive psychodynamic training. I offer brief and powerful work to help my clients heal from trauma, accidents, and painful life experiences.
I believe in the power of mindfulness, as well as cognitive re-framing of old and unproductive thought patterns to help you cultivate a more joyful and compassionate world view.
