My Approach to Helping

As a smart, driven, and hard-working professional, you have many goals. Your work and career mean a lot to you and so do your relationships with your family and friends. When you find yourself dealing with so much stress, anxiety, overwhelm and depression, it takes a toll on all these precious areas of your life, and most importantly, on you and your wellbeing.

Stress is a normal part of life, but too much stress makes it hard to cope. Overwhelm can quickly set in and it can feel like everyday things are not manageable. It becomes difficult to focus and concentrate, our performance at work and effectiveness start to diminish, our energy becomes low, and we feel more moody than usual. We find it hard to enjoy the things we once used to and stay up at night worrying and feeling horrible. For some people, this can spiral into feelings of depression and anxiety which makes the stress and overwhelm even worse. This can feel so awful, especially when all we want is to fix our struggles and feel good again.

At this point, I believe everyone has three options. You could do nothing, and hope things change with time. You can try to help yourself, which you have probably tried and done your best already. Or you can reach out for some help, the right kind of help. The right kind of help means you get support, and tools to help you manage the emotional distress and stressors in your life.

I’m Dr. Sunita Shenoy. I'm a clinical psychologist, and I have over 10 years of experience working with professionals dealing with anxiety, depression, work and life stress, racial stress, and going through transitions related to work or relationships. I understand the significant role that work, career, and relationships play in our lives.

Most of my clients feel lost when they first come to therapy, but I very quickly work with them to get clarity on the problems they are facing and teach them skills and strategies to help solve the problems that need solutions. I will listen to you, understand you, empathize with you, and help you make the decisions you need to make but I will never judge you. I will work with you to help restore balance in your life and confidence in yourself.

If you’re like most go-getters and open-minded working professionals, you don’t just want to sit on the sidelines. You want things to improve. If you're feeling it’s time to make some healthy changes in your life and you want to get back to living a more fulfilled and balanced life, contact me. Call me for a free 15 minute telephone consultation and let’s talk about how I help you get back to feeling like yourself again and living your life with balance and joy.

More Info About My Practice

It may be helpful to know a little more about me and my practice. Please take a look at my website for more information: www.drmehtashenoy.com.

I have created treatment programs for social anxiety and I have extensive experience helping people with social anxiety issues to reduce the way social anxiety makes them feel so they can have more social ease.

I have a deep understanding of diversity issues that people deal with in this country and as an adjunct professor, I teach a college course on this topic. As a therapist, I help my clients of color to process and heal from racial stress and help them gain a better understanding of the multicultural and diversity issues we face.

As an Indian therapist in the US, I have a unique perspective on the dual cultural experience most Indian and South Asian people go through living in America. I help my Indian and South Asian clients to navigate this unique journey, understanding and integrating the culture and traditions from which they came from, with the culture and opportunities they have.

I am available to meet in-person at my office in a convenient part of San Francisco.

I also conduct sessions online through confidential tele-therapy. I am available to do therapy with clients residing anywhere within California. I have been conducting tele-therapy for several years and have a Tele-mental Health Certification. There are many advantages to online therapy but if you're new or hesitant, we will talk about it before starting so you're comfortable.

I'm looking forward to speaking with you and working with you. Please contact me for a free 15 minute consultation call and let's see how you can start feeling better soon.
