My Approach to Therapy

I believe most people will need a little extra support at some point during their lives. Whether that’s short-term or for a sustained duration, I’ll be honored to explore ways to build resilience, explore change, and search for new possibilities with you. During the past six years of clinical, one prior year of graduate-level, and two years before that of pre-clinical work in psychotherapy and counseling (nine years total), I’ve worked well with artists, creative people, innovators, educators, first responders, healthcare professionals, people in high-intensity or technology jobs, and those dealing with stress and burnout. I’m curious to hear what has meaning to you, what challenges you, and what feels like a struggle lately. My approach combines mindfulness, Buddhist psychology, narrative therapies, and gestalt techniques, combining East-West philosophies with clinical and therapeutic mind-body practices. Please contact me via phone or email for scheduling. Next-day consultations and intakes are available as soon as tomorrow. I offer both sliding-scale rates and insurance reimbursement receipts* to anyone in need—please inquire during your free initial consult. (*For those with questions about out-of-network reimbursement, I can guide you through that process.) Now accepting new clients; next-day consultations and intakes available.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Over the past 9 years of clinical, graduate-level, and pre-clinical professional experience, I've developed specializations in evaluating sleep issues, ADHD, Anxiety attacks and panic attacks, signs of Depression, and High-Stress lifestyles. My approach combines awareness and compassion techniques from Buddhist Psychology, and the holistic Humanistic modalities of Gestalt education, with Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)*, Narrative Therapy (word choice, beliefs, journaling), and with resources from the natural world (aka being outside when you can) to provide people with a breadth of choices on how to seek and reach wellness in their lives.

Groups I Work With

During the past 9 years* I have had the honor of supporting teachers, doctors, nurses, software technology professionals, and people in arts, entertainment, and other fields. One common thread has been their passion for work, even when work carries stress with it. Typical challenges have been sleep issues, relationship strain, and the impact of stress on daily life. Together, we have been able to explore techniques from mindfulness and meditation, to more novel "parts work," and narrative therapies, along with suggestions for how to connect to the organic, natural world. Often, therapy involves making intentions to get back to what you love, like being outdoors, or strengthening boundaries in work, play, and relationships.
