My Approach to Helping
Quite simply, I work with adults who are concerned with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and non-substance additions. I embrace self-discovery of our experiences, both internal and external, as the path to the truth about one's self, one's resilience, and the truth about what life in handing us. As a person makes sense of what he or she is going through, he or she finds greater calm and feeling of well being. I value self-compassion above self-esteem as a way to better connection with others, the source of well-being. I work with adults who find their moods disturbing, whether anxious or depressive who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. They feel they are alone in this and want to move on. Trauma is often a factor, whether from childhood or adult experiences. Adults find they cannot move on to a better sense of self, even if the trauma memory is subdued.
