Arlington has 235,000 inhabitants. The number of residents increased by 13% from 2010 to 2017. The ethnic composition of the population is 63% white, 16% Hispanic, 10% Asian, and 8% black. 

Twenty-three percent of people in Arlington are foreign-born. Over 29% of residents speak a foreign language at home. An estimated 29,500 Spanish speakers and 3,500 Chinese speakers live in Arlington.
