My Approach to Helping
I am a conservative, Christian and a proud American. Those are some of my strong values. A study from 2012 shows that only 6% of psychologists and therapists report being conservative; 94% of us identify with the left. There are over 328 million people in America and only 6% of us can identify with at least half of you. That's hard to swallow. And, I can only imagine how frightening it must be to sift through a pool of therapists to find someone you can trust that won't judge you, mock you, harass you or try to change you because of your values. I want you to know that I am here for you. I get it.
My approach is simple: to listen. I want therapy to be about you. Everyone is uniquely made; therefore, there cannot be a cookie-cutter approach to treatment. I listen to your story, what you hope to achieve and we work out a plan together. I pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic approaches to help give you a well-rounded therapeutic experience.
I'm also honest. I guide you through breaking those chains of destructive and undesirable behaviors that plague your life - I do it with honesty. My approach is never through a false narrative.
Let's get healthy, together.
