My Approach to Helping
I will meet you where you're at. Literally and emotionally. Wherever you are and whatever level of discomfort you're experiencing, I will meet you there.
My approach is simple: to listen. I want therapy to be about you. Everyone is uniquely made; therefore, there cannot be a cookie-cutter approach to treatment. I listen to your story, what you hope to achieve and we work out a plan together. I pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic approaches to help give you a well-rounded therapeutic experience.
I'm also honest. I guide you through breaking those chains of destructive and undesirable behaviors that plague your life - I do it with honesty. My approach is never through a false narrative.
Let's get healthy, together.
More Info About My Practice
I am 100% Telehealth - meaning all my sessions are done through a secure HIPAA compliant portal that allows us to "meet" online or through your phone easily and conveniently. I do in-home or on-site visits to our geriatric population that don't feel comfortable with technology equipment.
I am licensed in California, Idaho, Nevada and Virginia - meaning I can see anyone from those states.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
As I'm sure you're aware, life isn't always so pleasant. It has its challenges. These challenges inevitably wear on us and create a fog of resentment, fear, anxiety, stress, hurt, sorrow...the list goes on. This fog can skew the truth.
Truth is not an opinion. I believe that there is a distinct separation from what is true and what is your opinion. Opinions are not wrong, but they can sometimes be deceptive.
I want you to have truth in your life. I want you to experience this world without the unnecessary fog that clouds so much of your success. You may face uncomfortable realities during sessions, but you will be treated with care, compassion and encouragement through non-judgmental eyes. My energy for you to have a prosperous life is infinite. My prayer for you is that my energy is infectious. If you're willing to work, I'm willing to meet you there.
My Role as a Therapist
My role is to be objective. Period. No matter who you are and what you are struggling through, I will be objective to the situation. There will never be any confusion between our therapeutic relationship. I understand the serious dangers in creating dual relationships; therefore, you will never have to worry about blurred lines between us.
