What's My Approach to Therapy?
Counseling provides an opportunity to examine your relationships, beliefs, values, and feelings in a safe, nonjudgmental setting. Counseling promotes skill development in problem solving, decision-making, and effective communication—all methods that improve your relationships with the significant others in your life.
My approach is eclectic, drawing from several psychological approaches to therapy: cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, and humanistic client-centered therapy. Most people generally benefit from a variety of techniques. My counseling practice is based on multicultural counseling principles, with a social justice perspective. People from diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds are welcome.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I honor the spirituality, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and cultural background of all my clients. I strive to understand your worldview and work with you as you make decisions about your life. The scope of my practice includes individual adults.
