My Approach to Helping

You do not have to be alone in dealing with the troubling feelings that keep you from being your best. I am easy to talk to, experienced, and willing to help find solutions to regain your personal resilience. In a non-judgmental, safe space we can work together to unpack the experiences that are interfering with your ability to feel grounded. Focusing on your strengths, we will reflect on the past and present, while keeping an eye to your future self.

With over 15 years as a counselor in the local school district, I have worked with adults and adolescents struggling with acute needs, such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, as well as personal under-achievement. I work with families and adults to find strategies suitable to their struggle.

I understand that your day might be busy and your hours dictated by things you “should” be doing, but I encourage you to prioritize your health and happiness by utilizing a space where you get to tell your personal story.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Living a full life means that you experience both joys and laughter of life, as well as gut wrenching sorrow and sometimes confusion. I have had to make decisions at forks in the road, as well as, having run up against some pretty huge road blocks. No one handles life perfectly, however, we learn through our personal struggles. The gift we often receive in return is empathy or the ability to walk with others as they experience similar struggles. I look forward to sharing your life experiences.
