My Approach to Helping
Shelita Jordan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas who has over 6 years of experience providing therapeutic care and clinical assessments to adults, couples and children seeking help with childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, anger management, coping, learning disabilities, alcohol use, women’s issues, relationship concerns, sex offender treatment, and victims of sexual abuse. She completed her Bachelor of ARTS in Social Work at Prairie View A&M and received her Master of ART in Counseling at Prairie View A&M University. In addition to being a Licensed professional Counselor, she is a Licensed Sex Offender Therapy Provider in the state of Texas.
She utilizes various therapeutic approaches to in include cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, solution focused brief therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, EMDR, and motivational interviewing to help clients acknowledge the various unique contexts which impact their lives, connect with their strengths, and learn new ways to live in wholeness.
Shelita believes that each person has their own narrative that has shaped what they are currently experiencing. Through her work, she strives to foster a safe nonjudgmental space where clients can tell their story, gain insight into how that has impacted them, and create a new reality that is more fulfilling.
