My Approach to Therapy

I help people who are anxious, withdrawn, and or stuck to feel relief, connection, and motivation by using research-proven psychotherapy techniques that are acknowledged by mental & physical health organizations in the US and around the world. If you have found difficulty talking about your concerns, don't worry because there is a different way to work through your problems. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a method that I use that allows the processing of events that are too complex to put into words or too emotionally intense to confront. Imagine being able to contain a problem in a secure container and having control over when to look at it and when to put it away. Progressively working on the issue will decrease your pain and set you free from negative thoughts, emotions, and physical distress that you may have associated with the problem.

What Makes up a Problem?

If your work, communication, sleeping, eating, sexual desire, physical health, or regulation of emotion is impaired, then you should know that it is a real problem that deserves to be treated. If you have read this far, now is the time to take the first step out of emotional purgatory. A problem is a problem when you believe that your thoughts, feelings, or behavior are getting in the way of your happiness and productivity. One idea that prevents people from entering therapy is comparing their problem to those of others. They minimize their discomfort and procrastinate until the problem grows to unbearable proportions.
