My Approach to Helping
Choosing to look after your mental health is an act of self-care and courage, whether this is your first venture into therapy or if you have years of experience. I believe that there is great need for the normalization of therapy, and that one way to do this is to promote easier communication and interaction with your therapist. I conduct therapy through a user-friendly online platform and use messaging to check in when appropriate, as it can be difficult to pick up the phone when life becomes overwhelming.
I specialize in treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and interpersonal communication. Some of the evidence-based theories I draw from are CBT, CPT, DBT, and NET. I also offer supervision and consultation, serve as adjunct faculty in a clinical mental health program, and conduct ongoing research on the treatment of complex trauma. Please see my website for more info.
Therapy is an investment, not just financially but also emotionally. In order for it to be most effective, I believe it is critical to find a therapist who is the right fit for you. Whether our work together lasts just one consultation call, or for several years, I applaud you for taking these steps towards committing to your wellness.
