My Approach to Helping
I am a cognitive behavioral therapist who works with children and their families. My treatment model involves both parents and the child in assessing the problem and its impact, developing treatment strategies, practice of new techniques to address the problem, and ongoing assessment of progress and success of strategies. Strategies can be both behavioral and cognitive. My experience has taught me that in most cases, changes in behavior of the child require parallel changes in the understanding and behavior of the parents to support the necessary changes. I do EMDR with children, particularly in relation to trauma and anxieties. I only work in person, though of course in the case of a new pandemic, I would try my best to continue to support my clients. My office is in Paoli, PA.
