My Approach to Helping

Life throws us into situations that we are expected to know how to navigate, but we don’t typically get taught how to cope with the spectrum of life’s happenings. Insecurities, uncertainty, and doubt can lead us to avoid discomfort and difficult situations. Avoidance often leads us to shy away from opportunities for profound self-growth. I hope to be someone in your corner that helps you to grow comfortable to explore the vulnerable parts of your internal and external world, to make sense of it.

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I am genuinely curious about your lived experiences, your relationships, your upbringing, and how it all impacts your current circumstances. I will work hard to develop a relationship based in compassion where you feel comfortable and safe to share intimate details. I believe the best work can be done through a relationship built on trust and balance. By encouraging and facilitating self-exploration, self-awareness, and insight we can uncover the tools for you to live feeling fulfilled and gratified.

I have 10 years of education and experience in the psychology field. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I also have a BA Honours in Psychology from Western University where I devoted my studies to social psychology with a particular focus on attitude formation and change.

More Info About My Practice

I work at a private practice in downtown Toronto called Work In Progress (https:www.workinprogressto.ca). Work in Progress grew out of an aim to respond to the problems of human suffering; the corporatization of mental wellness; the prioritization of certain bodies and identities in the wellness space; inequality and stigma in mental health; as well as long wait lists. By creating both a virtual and physical community, Work in Progress strives to cultivate a like-minded and diverse collective of mental health workers who embrace flexible work arrangements, rest, and opportunities for building their ideal practice.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I feel immense gratitude that people trust me to bear witness to the depth of their internal experiences that most of the world does not have access to. The trust that clients put in me is reciprocated in the trust I have in their ability to guide their therapeutic journey. I love being able to share my insight and objective observations about their lived experiences and foster discussions that lead to greater self-awareness, understanding, and identify future directions.
