My Approach to Helping
I believe in your innate power to heal and grow from difficult life experiences and I applaud your choice to begin the significant process of change through counseling services. Whether you've experienced trauma recently or many years ago, these experiences may continue to impact you in the present in various ways. I offer a gentle, collaborative, and affirming space to access and work through past experiences, however they may show up. I will work with you compassionately as you engage in self-exploration and personal growth.
Through validating feelings and re-framing irrational thinking patterns, I help my clients fully accept themselves while encouraging and motivating them to reach their goals. I use a combination of evidence-based treatments, including a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) treatment approach, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy.
Collaboratively we will focus on your strengths, explore the patterns that have brought you to where you are today, as well as discuss behavioral changes you can make to struggle less and create a richer, more fulfilling life.
