"Tell me what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" Mary Oliver

Many of us began life in difficult and painful circumstances. We all picked up beliefs from our families, our churches. and culture that defined our early lives and molded how we see ourselves and the world. These beliefs and resultant emotions helped us to survive childhood but no longer serve us as adults. What keeps us from living joyful, fulfilling lives are these unresolved emotions and limiting beliefs. I believe that healing may not be so much about getting better as about letting go of everything that holds us back from accepting and becoming who we really are.
Therapy is the process of challenging these beliefs, healing these old wounds and recognizing and replacing old patterns that no longer serve us. Therapy frees us to embrace our own authentic wisdom, the source of our inner strength, our natural confidence, our joy and openness.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive and compassionate atmosphere for you to feel what you feel, to express your struggles and to gain freedom from old emotional wounds. I offer an open, non-judgmental approach to the counseling relationship. Together we create your goals for the therapy process.

More Info About My Practice

Therapy is first and foremost about you and your hopes for change. It is my role to create a safe and compassionate space for those changes to take place. I have found various tools helpful in my work, especially Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT. EFT is a gentle mind/body approach that releases unresolved emotions, challenges limiting beliefs and uncovers and heals early core issues. EFT is very helpful for:

reducing anxiety, anger, shame, depression, stress
recognizing and replacing old patterns that no longer serve us
increasing clarity and confidence

Clients have said that using EFT greatly reduced their fear, anxiety, shame, anger and over-all stress.

I also believe in the healing power of curiosity, laughter and playfulness.

People are often anxious about entering therapy. I know that your comfort and trust is all important. To help with that, I offer a free 20 minute consultation for people seeking therapy to see if we are a good fit. Please feel free to call.
