My Approach to Helping
I have conducted individual and group sessions. My work thus far has been with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. I use a variety of therapy approaches, such a as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) or Person Centered Therapy (PCT), in order to keep the process of therapy focused on the client and what works best with them. Additionally, I have experience working with a variety of differing mental health diagnoses, such as Autism, anxiety, depression, Bipolar disorder, adjustment issues, to name a few.
Previously, I worked with families, schools, and communities of children to help the individual live their daily life with positive supports. Also, I worked with young adults with Autism in healthy relationship groups. Also, I have experience working with transition-aged young adults with mental health diagnoses live their daily life and become independent.
I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach, which allows me to work with clients to organize their thoughts that drive their behaviors. Throughout the process of counseling, I exercise active listening and personalizing treatment to help individuals reach their goals in the most beneficial and effective way.
