My Approach to Helping
As someone with lifelong experience in the faith community, I believe that when life brings the unexpected, you can draw on strengths you already possess and create sustaining hope to transform challenges into deep growth experiences.
Rachel is an LPC with experience in hypnotherapy, neurofeedback, individual, and family therapy settings. Rachel has also worked extensively with high-risk children and adolescents and their families, providing life skills and stability for the family unit. She uses a holistic approach and enjoys working with clients who are facing anxiety, depression, identity crises, issues of faith, and more. Rachel is a graduate of Regent University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and holds a certificate in ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) Trauma Treatment for Children and Adolescents. Rachel believes that every person possesses unique strengths and that there are no lost causes. It is her goal to assist clients in identifying and using their strengths to create meaningful goals, process life events, and establish lasting hope. Rachel is skilled at reframing and helping clients connect their experiences to a bigger picture, finding purpose and growth through unwelcome conflict and pain. Growing pains are a natural part of therapy, and should be expected. Rachel values patience, flexibility, and above all respect in the therapy process, allowing the client to move at his or her own pace. Rachel will work tirelessly to help clients find the hope that belongs to them and achieve a higher quality of life through a deeper understanding of their personal values and strengths.
