My Approach to Helping
I am an optimistic person and believe in the best in people. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have been providing culturally responsive services to families, children, adolescents, and young adults for over eight years. I have a master's degrees in Psychology and a master's degree in Counseling from the University of Texas. My ambition as a therapist is to help you develop the necessary skills so you can overcome challenging situations in life.
I have experience working with individuals, groups, and families. I am an eclectic therapist who adapts the therapeutic approach depending on the needs of the client, but always using evidence-based practices. I am inclined to use Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy or Cognitive Therapy in combination with a Person-Centered approach.
Some people fear therapy as being intimidating. I can assure you that therapy is just a conversation, and I want to hear your story. You can expect to have a proper therapeutic environment with a counselor who will practice under basic principles such as empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard without fear of being judged.
