My Approach to Helping

Have you been worn down by the challenges of life, discouraged by the obstacles that always seem to get in your way? Do you sometimes feel ready to give up? I can provide the support you need. If you are experiencing hopelessness, fatigue, insomnia, lack of motivation, excessive worry, or other troubling symptoms, I am here to help. All of us need support and encouragement, but I believe you do have within you the ability to change and grow. Are you ready to begin a new and exciting journey?

When you meet with me, I will collaborate with you to help choose your destination. If more than one path will take you there, we will explore your options together. I will help you learn new ways to navigate over and around the obstacles. I will provide the tools you need to continue on the path alone. It is your journey.

More Info About My Practice

I am a licensed professional counselor with over 25 years of experience in agencies and schools. I have worked for family violence shelters, substance abuse treatment facilities, and the local mental health authority.

I will consult with you about the type of therapy we will use. Although Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is my primary orientation, I have training and experience in several other types of therapy, including CBT, client-centered, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. Depending on your situation and your preferences, I may choose to utilize one or more of these.

My office is in a location convenient to most areas of Austin as well as Manor and Pflugerville. At this time I have appointments available on several weekdays and evenings, and on Saturday.
